A Proa do Moliceiro was born from a wish to do short-term rentals differently — with selection, with care, and with people you can reach. This is our story.
Our story
From the ria to the world.
The name says it all: the prow of the moliceiro is the part that opens the way through the ria, hand-painted with care, never out of place. That is how we think about every stay.
We started in 2023 with a single property in the centre of Aveiro. We did everything ourselves, with help from family — cleaning, laundry, communication, check-ins, accounting. No shortcuts.
In our first full year, in 2024, we earned Superhost status on Airbnb. Soon after, in 2025, owners began reaching out through word of mouth — and our management service was born.
Today we manage more than 20 properties in Aveiro, Costa Nova and Praia da Barra. We stay small by choice. We turn down more properties than we accept. And we keep treating every stay as if it were the first — because, for the guest walking in, it is.
We are not a platform. We are not a large agency. We are a local team, with names and faces, who live and work in Aveiro. Everything we do — from the way we welcome a guest to the way we report to an owner — comes from what we believe: that real hospitality only happens when there is time, attention and accountability.

2023
The first property
We opened with a single unit in the centre of Aveiro. Everything done with help from family — cleaning, laundry, communication, check-ins, accounting. No shortcuts.
2024
Superhost status
We earned Superhost status on Airbnb in our first full year of operation. A sign that the path — small, careful, close — was the right one.
2025
First management requests
Through word of mouth, owners started asking us to look after their properties. Our management service was born and, by the end of the year, we reached 10+ properties under management.
2026
20+ properties, same team
We doubled to more than 20 properties under management, without ever losing the direct relationship with guests and owners. We keep growing only by choice.

A consolidated boutique model
Aveiro centre, Costa Nova, Praia da Barra. Two pillars: quality stays for those who visit, and premium management for those who trust us with their property.
